#WeAreEssential: Tell Congress to Include the Disability Community in COVID-19 Relief Bills
People with disabilities and those who support them are being left behind! Congress has passed several bills to respond to the coronavirus pandemic – but must pass a bill that addresses the specific and critical needs of people with disabilities, including:
- Funding for a Medicaid grant program to support access to home and community-based services that lessen the risk of people with disabilities being put into institutions and to support the workforce.
- Paid leave for all caregivers
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) for direct support professionals.
Direct Support Professionals Are Essential Workers!
