Arc of Florida Chief Executive Officer
The Arc of Florida, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advocate for the quality of life for persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, is searching for a leader with a hunger for excellence and strategic vision to guide the organization and affiliated local chapters into the future.
Candidates for this position will demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational qualities, and excellent negotiation/mediation skills.
The CEO must effectively communicate (including compassionate storytelling), enjoy traveling, and partner with local chapters to face challenges. The CEO demonstrates effective legislative experience and builds working relationships with local, state, and national partners, fiercely advocating for public policies and high quality supports for people with I/DD. The CEO is the spokesperson and represents the association in all dealings with other organizations, individuals, the general public, and the media, operating as lead liaison to federal, state, and regional agencies that plan, budget, and/or make rules for supports and services for persons with I/DD.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of 15 years of education and experience (Master’s Degree in human services or related field preferred), with at least 5 years experience in executive leadership, and is prepared to discuss their meaningful experience in the areas of regulatory systems, compliance standards, best practices, research, organizational management, branding, chapter development, and chapter expansion with the search committee.
