Physical & Nutritional Supports
Physical & Nutritional Supports is comprised of three modules. This course teaches direct care staff and clinicians such as Occupational and Physical Therapists how to apply the principles of their crafts to those with I/DD in a person-centered manner.
The Arc of Florida is on a mission to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities through education, awareness, research, advocacy and support of professionals, families, friends and the community. We believe that caregivers and direct support professionals deserve the best quality training available to support them in providing vital care to individuals with I/DD.
We collaborated with Health Risk Screening, Inc. to offer a series of eLearn Modules addressing specific healthcare topics and needs faced by many persons with I/DD. The training courses below include collections of self-paced eLearning modules filled with videos, interactive exercises and visual aids.
Fatal Five Fundamentals
The Fatal Five Fundamentals Course was designed for Direct Support Professionals and general staff. It covers the Fatal Five by clearly defining and illustrating what each item is, how to spot them, who is at risk, what to report and when staff should alert their medical manager or send the person to the emergency room.
